James Garner, actor, gentleman and motorsport legend.

James Garner with a motorsport crowd where he felt very much at home, while being interviewed by broadcaster Dave McClelland during “An Evening with Parnelli Jones” at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles on November 9, 2006. Jim was Jim on and off camera, loved racing, starred in “Grand Prix” as fictional F1 driver Pete Aron, and played himself in “The Racing Scene” theatrical documentary four years later. There is a chapter on this website that chronicles the making of that 90-minute real-life film about Garner and his racing team during 1969 at Daytona, Sebring, Lime Rock and Mt. Tremblant. He’s gone now but not gone, and will always be with us. Photo: William Edgar
